Port Blair, Dec 12: Granting 1/30th of Pay + DA to the DRMs of different department of A & N Administration is one of the long pending issues, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament besides raising the issue in the Parliament/ Ministry/ Administration, the issue has been also taken up in the HMAC meeting and due to his ample efforts, the A & N Administration has issued order for granting 1/30 pay + D.A to the DRMs with effect from 01.09.2017 against the vacant post vide order No.289 dated 22.09.2017. This was an incredible effort of Mr.Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. Andaman.
In compliance to aforesaid order, the Department of APWD has circulated a Proforma amongst the DRMs seeking the Bio-data but insisted an additional condition (Quota) “I undertake that I will abide all the terms & condition of O.M No.289 dated 22.09.2017 and I will not claim either for regularization of service or financial benefit of service rendered prior 01.09.2017(Un-quote).
Since the condition imposed by the department is not found to the true spirit of the order, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray has met with the Chief Secretary today on 12.12.2017 to discuss the issue. While discussing the matter, the Commissioner (PWD) and the Chief Engineer, APWD were also present.
After detailed discussion in the matter, it has been decided to withdraw the condition stipulated in the proforma and will issue a revised circular/proforma for the DRMs of APWD. In view of the above, no DRMs of APWD are needed to submit such undertaking further.
