Baratang, Dec 06: As the Indian Meteorological Department, Kolkata has forecast heavy rain in the islands, since 05th December due to heavy rainfall and wind the villagers of Baratang area are facing huge difficulties. Although on 06 December the rainfall was comparatively less in Baratang region.
As per detail, on 05 December a large number villagers were forced to remain at home as they could not even come out of their houses due to the bad condition of roads and lack of proper bridges making flooding like situation in some areas.
The affected villages are Kanchangarh, Kukurbokha, Wrafters Creek, Khatta Khari, Logarchan, Beach Dera, Kharanall, Bolcha etc.
Following the heavy rain Power cut has become yet another problem which is faced by the villagers and school going students.
