Port Blair, Nov 15: The A&N State Social Welfare Board celebrates Children’s Day by re-starting the Crèche at Ograbraj which was temporarily functioning by their own resources. Dr. Poonam Arora thanked Smti. Rashmi Singh, Secretary (SW), A&N Administration, Port Blair for her presence and support to get back the scheme to the Social Welfare Board. Also she applauded Mr.Mohammed Saffique, Pradhan, Mithakhari, Shri Abdul Gafoor, Executive Magistrate and In-charge of Dist. Control Room, PRI Members for their efforts and support for establishing the Crèche at new premises. Officials from P.H.C, Tusnabad also attended the function. The Chairperson appreciated the unconditional and dedicated efforts of Smti. Soora Bibi, Crèche Worker for sustaining the crèche with her own resources for 1½ years without any Govt. aid. She also congratulated the new team of Mahila Mandal, Ograbraj. She assured that the Pradhan’s demand of merging of Anganwadi & crèche will be put forward in papers, so that more better and good module of crèche can be made available to the people. Ograbraj can set an example of this pilot project which Ministry of Women & Child Development is also encouraging. Smt. Rashmi Singh wished the children a very happy Children’s Day. She assured that all the support to the new module of Crèche-cum-Anganwadi will be put forward to the Ministry.
