Port Blair, Nov 14: The Dead body of Wandoor Croc attacked victim, Bishnu Hari Mandal, was found floating in sea between Grab Island and Mawadera by a local fisherman of South Andaman area.
Soon the Forest as well as the Police Department was informed about the floating Dead body by a local fisherman.
On receiving the information, a team of Forest Department with three of their Dinghies along with Police Personnel, then brought the dead body back to the land.
With great pain the join team of police, forest and some boat operators carried the highly decomposed dead body for nearly 20 kms and shifted to Hospital for post-mortem.
As per highly placed, today the Member of Parliament, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray held a meeting at Wandoor along with a local residents and Tour Operators in the presence of PCCF, where the MP, villagers and Tour Operators demanded the PCCF to shift the entire Crocodile present in the sanctuary to some other sanctuary.
Meanwhile even after two days there is no indication of any inquiry ordered by Forest Department in this regards.
Many villagers of South Andaman region are alleging that such negligence from the side of Forest Department must be taken seriously as this croc attack accident must be termed as ‘Negligence causing Murder’ and concerned officials must be arrested on this charge.
This is shameful that even after having dozens of IFS officers in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and thousands of employees the Forest Department is unable to ensure safety of public and offering porous croc safety nets.
This is also shocking to note that that the Administration and the Lt. Governor has not issued any orders for Judiciary Inquiry in this regard.
This is worth mentioning here that the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr Tarun Coomar had assured to conduct a detailed inquiry on Sunday’s Crocodile Attack occurred at Wandoor Beach.
When Andaman Sheekha questioned to the PCCF Mr Tarun Coomar whether he will fix any responsibilities against the concerned staffs for this attack, he said that he is going to conduct a detailed inquiry.
Wandoor, Chidiyatapu and other areas are very good habitat and dwelling place for crocodiles which we local people know. We have spend our life in Andaman waters and know the risks, our coming generation are not used to it, due to implementation of rules as population increases. Crocodiles were and are still here from many many years. Administration should take steps so that no one is allowed to enter into these areas, instead of keeping watch on the 100 of people daily entering these areas disturbing the natural habitat. Let them enter first and the trying barricade the area is no solution.
It is the Administration which for making money and fame is opening such place for tourist. Because people from outside Andaman come here and their safety is to maintained. Illegal construction and biological destruction are made by using cement concrete structure and non degrade bale material effecting marine life and the beauty of the place.
Safety net is precautionary method there should be strict preventive method. We people should be shifted not the crocodiles.
