Madhupur, 3 Nov: A road side drain which is being constructed at ward no 7 at Madhupur Gram Panchayat at Diglipur has triggered a fresh controversy. As per a landowner the drain is being constructed from his land that too, without his approval.
The complainant Kalachand Sikdar S/o Late Nikunja Sikdar, R/o Madhupur claims that the land belongs to him and he has not given any No Objection Certificate for the 70 mtr long drain being constructed infront of his house.
Not only this the end point of the drain, faces towards his standing paddy land, which he fears once operational it will damage his paddy land.
He complained this matter to the sub- contractor, JE and the Zilla Parishad members, who reportedly didn’t not take any action. Now he also complained the matter to the Asst Commissioner and Tehsildar. The land owner now requests to stop the work immediately and also demands that action should be taken for the defaulters.
The people of that locality added that that there is no road in that area since last 10 years then why the drain is being constructed on priority basis.
