Port Blair, Oct 30: The case of promotion of some Inspector ranked officers of Andaman and Nicobar Police to the rank of DySP is triggering waves since last four years.
While letters issued under Secretary ranked officer of Ministry of Home Affairs and others repeatedly directed the Andaman and Nicobar Administration to revert all Inspectors who have been promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police on adhoc basis because there is no provision under DANIPS rules to induct officers to ad-hoc basis.
But for reasons unknown no action has been taken by Administration yet. One wonders what is the motive behind such delay, in following orders of MoHA, in this regard.
It has also been learnt that a fresh reminder has also come in secretariat this year but again no action has been taken in this regard.
To know the correct facts and learn about the reasons for this delay when Andaman Sheekha contacted the Superintendent of Police of South Andaman, she refused to comment anything in this regard.
When Andaman Sheekha tried to contact the Director General of Police in this regard, Andaman Sheekha was not given time to meet the DGP.
Such acts only raise questions over the working style of DGP and other senior officers of A & N Police.
Public questions that if the Administration and Police Department can revert ASI’s to Head Constable rank, after court’s judgment why the directions of MoHA is taken so lightly by the Administration and top officers of ANP ?
