Port Blair, Oct 29: The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands organized two days course on “Gender Justice” & “Crime against Women” from 25.10.2017 to 26.10.2017 for in-service Police personnel from the rank of PC to Inspector under the overall supervision of Smt. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Principal, PTS for improving the knowledge and the practical application of the act during their service.
During the course, Shri T.Sebasteen (Rtd. Dy.SP, A&N Police), as well as the faculty members of Police Training School Inspr. R.K.Sharma, Inspr. S.K.Sarkar, Inspr. Abita Bachan & SI D.K.Seal delivered impressive and informative lectures on the topic like gender justice, sexual harassment at workplace, physical & mental torture, cruelty/homicidal cases of women, domestic violence, molestation, guidelines, registration of rape cases, POCSO Act and investigation on kidnapping/abduction, etc. Altogether, 16 Police personnel of various Police Stations/ Units of A&N Police participated in the training programme, interacted and enriched themselves for initiating steps forward towards effective implementation of law. Inspr. R.K.Sharma, CLI, PTS concluded the training programme by emphasizing on the objectives of the course and its thorough implementation. The course was coordinated by Inspr. Abita Bachan & SI D.K. Seal, PTS, Prothrapur.
