Port Blair, Oct 27: For the first time in A&N Islands, an international conference on ‘Aesthetic Medicine and allied Sciences’ – the 2nd Aesthetica Asia- 2017 is being held. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Anindo Majumdar inaugurated the three day conference in the DBRAIT Auditorium here this morning. The Eastern India Cosmetic Dermatology Research Academy (EICDRA), Kolkata in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services and ANIIMS, A&N Administration, is organizing the conference which will continue till Oct. 29. Addressing the gathering including the delegates who have come from different parts of India and abroad; the Chief Secretary expressed happiness over the conduct of the event and said these Islands are ideal location for organizing such international level conference. Conduct of the conference will herald a new chapter not only in the medical field but in the other related fields too, the Chief Secretary said.
Referring that in this new era people want to look better and younger, the Chief Secretary said many people are need of treatment for scars, hair losses, patches, ageing skin; and the professional in the field of cosmetic dermatology help them look and feel better.
Pointing that aesthetic dermatology has developed leaps and bounds in recent times, the Chief Secretary said, there are many specialist doctors in this field in this new era. The conduct of the second International level conference reflect that aesthetic dermatology is catching up, the Chief Secretary said adding that conduct of the conference in Isles will enable the doctors at GB Pant Hospital and the faculties of ANIIMS to know more about the advancements taking place in this field.
The Chief Secretary also released a souvenir brought out as part of the 2nd Aesthetica Asia -2017 International conference on ‘Aesthetic Medicine and allied Sciences’.
The Director ANIIMS, Dr. R. P. Choubey, and the DHS, Dr. (Smt), Shipra Paul also addressed the gathering.
Welcoming the chief guest and others, the President EICDRA, Prof. R. N. Dutta said, this conference is being organized with an aim to familiarize the Islanders and the doctors about aesthetic dermatology which deals in repair of the skin to make the person look better. He also described A&N Islands as one of the most sought after tourist destination. He also expressed gratitude to the Administration, DHS, ANIIMS and DBRAIT for the support extended towards conducting this conference.
The inaugural session concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. R. K. Halder, Dermatologist, G .B Pant Hospital.
