Port Blair, June 27: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) today requested the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands for providing free bus pass facility for poor students studying in local Govt. Degree colleges like JNRM, Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder, Engineering college, Polytechnic college, B.Ed, ITI & TTI.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the General Secretary of ANTCC, Mr. G Bhasker said that these students are bound to travel by boats and buses to reach their respective institutions spending high amount for their tickets daily.
Therefore the ANTCC has requested the Lt. Governor to grant free bus pass concession to the poor students and also the students travelling in boats, who are to avail beyond 3 kms distances to reach their educational institutions, at par with the concession already extended to the school students.
