Port Blair, Sep 20: A delegation of Baratang fibre boat operators on 20 September around 3.30 pm under the leadership of Mr. G. Kurma Rao, Ex-Zilla Parishad Member, Baratang met with the Chief Secretary regarding the closure of ATR road and introducing of alternative sea route to Baratang for visitors/tourists.
During the meet the Chief Secretary has reportedly informed that there is no decision taken for closure of ATR for tourists and is just a rumor created by some miscreants. Later the CS directed to the Secretary (T/W) and Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman for immediate press release in Daily Telegram, AIR and Doordarshan for awareness of general public.
