Port Blair, Sep 14: Hindi Day was celebrated in Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair on 14-09-2017. Shri Madan Mohan Ojha, Inspector of Accounts, Directorate of Doordarshan, New Delhi was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme was chaired by Deputy Director(E)/HoO Shri A.Shiv Kumar and Shri N.V. Hanumant Rao,Assistant Director(Prog.). Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest emphasized the importance of Official Language. He called upon all the staff not to restrict usage of Hindi to a week or fortnight rather should continue it through out the year. Later the Chief Guest gave prizes to the winners of the competitions.
The Head of the Office Shri A. Sivakumar, Dy. Director (E), welcomed the Chief Guest and greeted all staff members on the occasion. He presented memories regarding Hindi as a link language nation wide. Earlier Hindi Officer (i/c) Shri Deepak Chandra Tewari welcomed the gathering and presented a brief report on the Progressive usage of Official language in the Kendra.
Speaking on the occasion Shri N.V. Hanumant Rao,Assistant Director(Prog.) greeted the winners of various competitions and applauded them for their active participation. The programme was concluded with vote of thanks delivered by him.
