Port Blair, Sep14: It is brought to knowledge of electricity consumers and general public that due to prevailing humid & hot climate there is an increase in power demand resulting shortage of power and the 01 hours 15 minutes’ rotational load shedding will continue during evening peak hours from 1730 Hrs. to 2345 Hrs. and day hours from 0500 Hrs. to 1730 Hrs., in Port Blair and South Andaman area on every day as per the following revised schedule. For areas covered under Schedule-I mentioned above will be from 0500 Hrs To 0615 Hrs. & 1115 Hrs To 1230 Hrs. Areas covered under Schedule-II will be from 0615 Hrs To 0730 Hrs. & 1230 Hrs To 1345 Hrs., for Schedule-III it will be from 0730 Hrs. To 0845 Hrs. & 1345 Hrs. To 1500 Hrs., Schedule-IV from 0845 Hrs. To 1000 Hrs. & 1500 Hrs. To 1615 Hrs., and Schedule-V from 1000 Hrs. To 1115 Hrs & 1615 Hrs. To1730 Hrs.However, the 20 MW Suryachakra Power Plant, Bambooflat has started giving 3.5 MW load from afternoon i.e. 13.9.2017, which will eliminate power cuts during night hours i.e. from 2345 hrs. to 0600 hrs. One more 1.6 MW DG Unit of M/s. Sudhir Reddy Genset Consortium is expected to deliver about 1.2 MW at the earliest which will reduce load shedding further. One more DG set of this Power House is likely to be commissioned by Sunday evening. Similarly, the second 5 MW DG Set of M/s. Suryachakra Power Plant, is also expected to give power supply to Electricity Department Grid by Sunday. M/s. New Bharat, Mumbai, has procured new 2×1 MW DG Sets which have already reached Port Blair and are likely to be commissioned and start generation in 7 – 8 days thereby substantially reducing the power crisis at Port Blair and South Andaman. The Electricity Department is taking all required efforts to reduce the load shedding to minimum possible. The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
