Port Blair, Sep 07: Together with the rest of the nation ‘Hindi Fortnight’ is being observed in Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair from 1st to 15th September, 2017. Various competitions viz- Poetry, Letter writing, Sulekh, Quiz etc. will be held during the Fortnight. In this connection ‘Poetry Competition was held today wherein Dr. Anjani Kumar Srivastava, Associate Professor (Hindi), JNRM was the Chief Guest on the occasion .
The Programme was chaired by Shri. A. Siva Kumar , Deputy Director/ Head of the Office. All the Staff members participated enthusiastically in the competition. Speaking on the occasion Shri. A. Siva Kumar, Deputy Director/ HoO proclaimed Hindi to be a link language in real terms in this territory. A & N Island which is considered to be in ‘A’ region he called upon all the staff of the Kendra to do their maximum work in Rajbhasha Hindi so that the target laid down by the Department of Official Language, MHA, New Delhi could be attained in best of spirit.
Dr. Anjani Kumar Srivastava, Associate Professor J.N.R.M. who himself is a renowned and a noted poet presented few of his compositions which where very thought provoking and signified the occassion. Earlier Shri. Deepak Chandra Tewari, Hindi Officer (i/c) welcomed the gathering and informed above various competitions to be held during the Fortnight. The valedictory function will be held on 14th Sept 2017.
