Port Blair, Aug 30: As per the Disaster Management Programme 2017 sanctioned by Indian red Cross Society, National Head Quarters, New Delhi to all States and UTs, the IRCS, A & N Branch organized a First – Aid Training programme followed by a MOCK DRILL on 30 August at Harinagar Panchayat Bhavan around 10 am. Total of 30 students (15 Boys and 15 Girls) from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Harinagar participated in this training programme.
Shri Uttam Mondal, Pradhan Harinagar was the Chief guest on the occasion. Highlighting the Aims and goals of the Indian red Cross Society, he also stated that it is a great opportunity of the area that Indian red Cross Society has come forward to provide training to the emerging youths of the society. He further said that every year Flood is faced by the village and this training will increase the strength of the youths to combat the situation.
The Training and mock drill was provided by Miss. J. Sapna, Disaster Coordinator, and Miss. D. Navina, FMR Trainer, Indian red Cross Society, Port Blair. The participants also expressed their happiness for getting opportunity to participate in such vital training.
