Port Blair, Aug 08: The Chief Secretary A & N Administration along with Principal Secretary (Health) visited Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Port Blair on 09/08/2017 at 3:30 pm. Maj. Gen. (Dr) R P Choubey (Retd), Director ANIIMS apprised the Chief Secretary & Principal Secretary (Health) regarding the development of the Medical College ANIIMS since its inception in 2015, with a detailed power point presentation. All the HOD’s of the Medical College and Medical Superintendent, GB Pant Hospital were also present, along with the Chief Engineer, APWD and his team. Chief Secretary expressed his happiness and satisfaction after visiting the new ANIIMS campus being constructed at Corbyne Cove and directed the Chief Engineer, APWD to improve upon the pace of construction for early completion of the construction work at the new Medical campus.
The upcoming Medical Campus shall be a state of the art, green and smart infrastructure, accommodating at least 500 Under Graduate&100 Post Graduate students,400Nurses & Paramedical staff and 150 teaching faculty of the Medical College.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), will be a boon for the islanders, where in specialized Medical treatment, with the help of latest medical equipments and professional expertise, will obviate the need of transfer of patients of these islands to the mainland besides promoting Medical Tourism in these wonderful islands.
