Port Blair, August 04: As part of generating awareness towards the implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST) regime in Andaman Nicobar Islands, the departments of GST conducted street plays across the Port Blair and Ferrargunj area. A team of six performers which included a Ventriloquist from an NGO Muqtadhara conducted the performance.
Besides the Ventriloquation, elements used were of dance, music, drama and Magic. Ten such performances were conducted between 27th July to 3rd August 2017. Areas covered included markets of Aberdeen, Mohanpura, Bambooflat and Wimberlygunj and areas such as Corbyn Cove and Cellular Jail. The plays were conducted in entertaining manner and elaborated upon the basics of GST, its benefits and the process of registration.
It attracted audience in large numbers and the initiative was highly appreciated by the General Public.
