Port Blair, Aug 03: An extension officer, posted in Diglipur region is absconding from these Islands after a case under section 376 (rape) was filed against him by a village girl.
The girl alleged that the said Extension Officer reportedly promised to marry her and had physical relations. As per detail the affair was nearly 4 to 5 year long but when the boy tried to marry another girl and had engagement with another girl the victim girl filed an FIR.
The accused allegedly offered 5 lakhs to the victim, which was refused by her and a case under Sec 376 was filed by her at PS Diglipur.
In the mean time the accused went out of Andaman Islands on official work. He was supposed to report on 27th July, which was not done.
The accused filed an Anticipatory bail in the Hon’ble Court which was duly rejected by the court. The mother of the accused few days ago tried to commit suicide at Diglipur in which a matter u/ Sec 309 was registered at PS Diglipur.
If the girl was cheated and the facts are true. . The law should make/ compel the person/ alleged accused to marry the girl and the accused person and the girl sufficiently compensated for her future so that such crimes of cheating will be controlled. The girl should be compensated. After five years some men require new life spoiling the life of a girl offering 5 Lakhs purchasing a woman.
