Diglipur, Aug 3: The Andaman & Nicobar Police today arrested a 22yrs old person from Diglipur for allegedly raping a minor girl of class XI at Diglipur.
The matter was reported to the PS Diglipur yesterday midnight. The accused from couple of months used to call the girl on her mother’s phone.
Yesterday also he called the victim and asked her to meet him at midnight. When the girl met him at Midnight, he took her into a vacant house, close to her residence and raped her.
When her mother found the victim dull in her room and questioned her, she narrated the incident to her. Soon parents brought the girl to PS Diglipur at the same time and reported the matter.
After medical examination confirmed intercourse, police arrested the accused and tomorrow he will be produced before the Hon’ble Court.
Here after midnight, soon after the crime, when the accused was coming to Diglipur on his bike from nearby village without helmet, he was stopped by the alert Police posted at Police Chowki at Diglipur.
Due to lack of proper documents, suspicion (as his cloths had mud all around) and lack of vehicle documents, police team imposed challan on him.
When the POCSO matter came to the light next morning, police arrested the accused.
