Port Blair, July 31: The Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration today said that for development of Andaman and Nicobar Islands one need to try to benchmark against other Island Nations and not against other parts of India.
Addressing a gathering at the inauguration of two day workshop to facilitate process for implementation of the ‘Business Reforms Action Points-2017’, the Chief Secretary today said that Islands of Andaman and Nicobar as well as Lakhshadweep should be taken in a different platform.
“You know why? You should try to compare these Islands with all the Island nations. I have been stressing this in many other forums also. Sri Lanka, Maldives, Mauritius, if you are targeting the improvement of these Island Territories try to benchmark against those countries or similarly place with eco –fragile system. How they have grown, how they have move ahead. With this International Experience of such countries benchmark Andaman on that,” the CS said.
