Port Blair, July 21: A 22-year-old youth reportedly fell into the sea from Marine Jetty on 20th July, 2017 at around 10:20 pm. As per reports, Y Mohammed Sahil, resident of Hope Town was under heavy influence of liquor and was standing on the Marine Jetty, very close to the sea. As per sources, somehow the youth reportedly lost his balance and fell into the sea.
As soon as the incident took place the staffs of Directorate of Shipping Services reported the matter to the Police following which a team constituting of Sub-Inspector Dinesh Meena, HC Usman and Home guard Nagaraj reached the spot and all courageous Police Personnel saved him in no time.
It is learnt that Home Guard Nagaraj jumped into the sea to save the youth as being under heavy influence of liquor the youth was even unable to take the help, provided from the Police Personnel.
SI Dinesh Meena leaded the entire operation and as soon as the youth was brought out, he was immediately rushed to the GB Pant Hospital where the youth was given medical care.
