Port Blair, July 16: Fifth seeded Jayakumaar S of Tamil Nadu defeated Ankit Chudasama of Gujarat moving into sole lead with 5.0 points after the fifth round of the 26th National Youth Under 25 Chess Championship 2017 at Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkiya Mahavidyalaya, Port Blair here today.
Top seed International Master P Shyaamnikhil of Tamil Nadu and Joy Pankaj Shah of Gujarat shared the second spot with at 4.5 points each.
The nine round tournament concludes on 19th July, 2017. Earlier, the fifth round was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri K. Kundu, Director, MAK Logistics Groups. The sixth round, in progress, was inaugurated by Shri Deepak Govind, MD, Barefoot.
