
Port Blair, Jul 5: To commemorate the third year completion of the NDA Government, the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Publicity Unit of Port Blair is organizing a five day photo exhibition entitled ‘Saath Hai Vishwaas Hai Ho Raha Vikaas Hai’. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi by cutting the ribbon and lighting the ceremonial lamp at CPWD Multipurpose Hall, Ranchi Basti GPRA Compound here this morning. The Chairperson, PBMC, Shri B. Eswar Rao and other senior officers of the Administration were also present on the occasion. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Lt. Speaking on the occasion, the Lt. Governor appreciated the efforts of the DAVP in organizing such photo exhibition here in the Islands for highlighting various schemes and initiatives undertaken by the Central Government for the development of the country and the welfare of the people. The Lt. Governor urged the Islanders to come and witness the exhibition and gather knowledge about various schemes available for them. The Lt. Governor also hailed the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for his far sighted vision for the development of the country including the far flung A&N Islands. He said, India is the fastest growing economy in the world and with the concerted efforts of the Prime Minister, the pace of development in the country is growing. The Lt. Governor also stated that the success of the schemes can only be achieved, when it reaches every stratum of the society, hence we must ensure they reach our masses.
The Lt. Governor went around the exhibition and also witnessed a video presentation on three years completion of Modi Government highlighting the various schemes and welfare measures being implemented by the Government for the welfare of the masses.
The five- day exhibition, which commenced today will continue upto July 9 from 10 am to 6 pm. General public can visit the exhibition and acquaint themselves with several welfare schemes launched by the Government. Feature films on ‘Making New India’ and other movies on activities of the Union Government will also be screened on all days of the exhibition.
The DAVP is organizing such exhibitions all over the country to make the public aware of the schemes and welfare measures of the Union Govt. for the benefits of the citizens of the country. Through this exhibition, the DAVP is displaying the schemes and welfare measures exclusively introduced for women, children, farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, differently abled, minorities and senior citizens.
