Port Blair, Jun 20: The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute is organizing Island Kisan Mela and Farm Innovators’ Meet on the theme “Value Addition & Marketing of Agri. and Agro Products” on 22ndand 23rd June, 2017 in its campus at Garacharma. This will provide a platform for technology sharing between the researchers, development department, farmers and the others stakeholders representing from South, North & Middle and Nicobar district besides school children will also get an opportunity to visit and interact with the Scientist and inculcate scientific temperament. The mela will have stalls from Development department, Self Help Group, Bankers, NGOs, Input suppliers and different Divisions of ICAR-CIARI and KVKs, showcasing their activities for the benefit of the stakeholders. Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), A&N Islands will be the Chief guest and inaugurate the Mela at 10.30 am on 22nd June, 2017.
Director (Agriculture), Director (Fisheries), Director (AH&VS) will be the guests of honour and Dr. S. Dam Roy, Director, CIARI will preside over the function.
