Port Blair, May 29: To mark “World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) on 31 May”, Gayatri Pariwar will be organizing various activities across the islands with the aim of spreading awareness among the masses of the ill effects of Tobacco, alcoholism, drugs etc. As the part of this movement, Gayatri Chetna Kendra, Shahjeevan colony, Haddo, Port Blair will be conducting a “Nukkad – Natak” to make awareness about the ill effects of Tobacco/Drugs ( all types of Toxicants) to them and their family at various places like Junglighat (Vegetble Market) on 28 May 17 from 10.30 am – 11.00 am, Haddo (Hanuman Junction) on 30 May 17 from 05.15 pm – 05.45 pm, Dairy Farm (Krishna Mandir) on 29 May 17 from 05.15 pm – 05.45 pm.
On 31st May on Anti Tobacco day a “Nukkad – Natak” in front of Radha Krishna Temple, Junglighat at 04.00 pm will be organized marking closure of the programme after which a Rally from Junglighat Radha Krishna Temple to Tiranga Park via- Goal Ghar, Middle Point, Clock tower from 04.45 pm onwards and will reach Tiranga Park at the end continuing with a programme purely aimed to spread awareness about ill effects of consuming Tobacco, Alcohol, and harmful Drugs etc on our body & mind and ultimately on society.
The event includes few motivational songs, skits followed by a small video clipping and discourse by prominent citizens of Port Blair.
On this occasion Books on Vyasan Mukti and Moral awaking helping for de-addiction, tipss to quit Tobacco, Smoking & Alcohol will be distributed during the event.
The general public are requested to kindly attend all the above mentioned programmes/NukkadNatak so as to get information/ knowledge on the issue and to help spread more n more awareness on the ill effects of consuming Tobacco, Alcohol, and harmful Drugs (all types of Toxicants) etc on our body & mind and ultimately on society.
