Port Blair, April 16: A man namely Mariyanus S/o Kamil Minj a resident of Shoal Bay Number 08 died at Shoal Bay Number 15 when a huge tree branch fell on him due to Inclement Weather yesterday at around 11:45 am.
Mr Mariyanus was working as a DRM at Forest Department. As soon as the incident took place the public present at the spot took Mr Mariyanus to the nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The matter was also reported to the concerned departments.
It is learnt that after the incident the Forest Department deputed some staffs to trim branches of old trees, which are present along the road sides. Till now no compensation has been released to the victim. Further details are still awaited.
