Diglipur, Apr 10: A 15 days training programme/Workshop on “Design & Technical Development Workshop in Textile Craft” (Hand Block Printing, Tie & Dye and Batik), at Industries Training Centre, Diglipur is been organized from 10th April, 2017 to 24th April, 2017 by Directorate of Industries, Port Blair, A&N Administration in association with Government of India, Ministry of Textile Regional Design & Technical Development Centre (RD&TDC), Bangalore The programme was inaugurated at Conference Hall of Industries Training Centre, Diglipur on 10th April, 2017 at 09:30AM. In this occasion Shri. Shyamal Mondal, Pramukh, Panchayat Samity, Diglipur was Chief Guest. Along with 30 nos. of selected local women candidates, trainees of Women Tailoring Centre, ITC, Diglipur and villagers of Diglipur Panchayat were present. Shri. Swapan Kumar Mallick, Industries Promotion Officer (I/c) welcomed Chief Guest and the gathering, later Shri. Anantha Murthy, Engr., (RD&TDC), Bangalore, Resource person of the Workshop explained detail about Block Printing, Tie & Dye and Batik, its daily use and market demand. Chief Guest Shri. Shyamal Mondal, Pramukh, Panchayat Samity, Diglipur, motivated participating trainees and said to take utmost benefit from such rare workshop organized by A&N Administration. At the end vote of thanks was given by Shri. Swapan Kumar Mallick, Industries Promotion Officer (I/c).
