Port Blair, Apr 02: Republic of Singapore ship RSS Tenacious called at Port Blair on 28 March 17. The ship is a Formidable Class Frigate of the Singapore Navy. The Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Auyong Kok Phai called on Cmde Ashutosh Ridhorkar, Naval Component Commander of the Andaman and Nicobar Command.
During the stay at Port Blair, various interactions were held between the Indian Navy and the crew of the RSS Tenacious. The interactions were interspersed with sports fixtures between personnel of the two navies, visits to places of historical and tourist interest like Cellular Jail and Ross Island and a reception dinner in honour of the visiting crew members, hosted by the Naval Component Commander.
The ship departed on 31st March and undertook various Naval exercises off Port Blair with the Indian Navy’s ship INS Karmuk, commanded by Cdr Vikas Sood. The exercises, which were heartily welcomed by the crew of the RSS Tenacious, reinforced the abilities of the two navies working in tandem with each other.
