Campbell Bay, Mar 26: To make the people aware and spread the knowledge of law, bringing the free legal aid to the common man, the Judiciary conducted a legal awareness camp at Campbell bay on 25/03/17 at Recreation Hall, Kamal Basthi.
All the heads of the Dept, Chairman Tribal Council, Pramukh, Pradhan, Campbell bay along with common people attended the interactive legal awareness session.
The main speaker was learned Mr. Sukumar, JMFC from Port Blair. The learned judge highlighted the nature of legal services provided by the district legal services authority, A& N Islands.
He also briefed on POCSO. On this occasion the Assistant Commissioner, Dr Mohd Rehan Raza welcomed the gathering and the Mr. Sukumar, JMFC and thanked him and applauded District Judge, Port Blair for making efforts for spreading legal awareness at Campbell Bay.
Dr Rehan, elaborated on the provisions of protection of Children from sexual offences ( POCSO) in simple language to the people of Campbell bay.
This whole program was being conducted by the district judiciary in coordination with O/o AC, Campbell bay and PRIs. The next session of legal awareness was conducted on 26/03/17 at Campbell Bay.
