Baratang, Mar 23: A training on “Financial Literacy, Digital and Cashless Transaction” for the students of Government Senior Secondary School, Oralkatcha, Middle Andaman was organized by the Sundergarh Gram panchayat in coordination with the Department of Home science, JNRM Port Blair. The training has been inaugurated byShri K.Murali Shankaar, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Baratang Middle Andaman. While Speaking to the participating rural students of the training, the Chief Guest said that, the Digital and Cashless transaction is the need of the hour and under one umbrella all services are available to the stakeholders. The main purpose of this cashless and paperless transaction is to bringout transparency in various transaction especially which involve large amount of public exchequer. He appreciated Professor Shri. K.Venkatesan, JNRM HOD for making such extension activities to reach the scheme and awareness to the unreached. The Guest of Honour Pradhan, Sundergarh Gram Panchayat, Shri. Biju Gurudasan, said this is the first of its kind of programme is happening in under this panchayat. He requested Shri Venkatesanji to organize for the rural women in the near future and thanked JNRM. Shri K Venkatesan, HOD, Home science explained the significance of financial literacy and the students role in achieving the vision of our forefather to make corruption free India for which Digital India certainly pave the way for achieving it. The various direct benefit transfer schemes and Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Suknya Suraksha Yojana also explained students through power point presentation and videos.
