Port Blair, Mar 07: The Indian Coast Guard team headed by Assistant Commandant Mr. P. Dharmaraj along with officers of Fisheries Department organized a fishing community interaction programme at Office of the Gram Panchayat, Mannarghat on today the 7th day of March 2017.
Mr. O. Bashir Pradhan, Gram Panchayat witnessed the event and ensured to share information regarding security concern for the mutual benefit.
The fishermen were briefed about the Distance Alert Transmission (DART), its usage & significance for any assistance need on the sea by them.
Altogether 50 fishermen participated on the interaction programme. During interaction the Coast Guard team also briefing the importance about registration the fishing boat and biometric card for individual fishermen.
