Port Blair, Mar 03: At the call of the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi, the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A & N Islands will be observing 06th March, 2017 as ‘BLACK DAY’ demanding honour of the commitment made by the Group of Ministers on 30th June, 2016 on revision of minimum wages, multiplication factor and allowances.
A Mass Demonstration will be organised infront of Secretariat Gate from 4.30 p.m. onwards where govt. employees from various departments will be participating in the programme. This is a part of the ongoing protest programmes organised throughout the country by the Confederation to resolve the 21 point Charter of Demands placed before the Govt. of India & delay in implementation of Allowances of 7th CPC.
Meanwhile an extended executive committee meeting of the Association held on 25th February, 2017 decided to organise Mass Dharna all over the Islands in support of All India Strike called by the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi on 16th March, 2017.
