Mayabuder, Jan 30: The 16th Subash mela-cum-exhibition which began on 23rd January 2017 eagerly awaited by thousands of men women and children for participation of all walk’s of live of North & Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder at last came to its end for its closing ceremony on 29th of January 2017 with long lasting reemergence of the people of the North & Middle Andaman District Mayabunder which was full of fun, gaining of informative activities of govt stall and pp mode joints participants.
The Chief Guest Shri Arava Gopi Krishana, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District while declaring the closing of the seven day’s mela on 29th January 2017 said that with the full cooperation of the people of the North & Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder had brought this subash mela-cum-exhibition a grand success and was fully free from neither man made nor any natural disaster. The angusted gathering were seen in visiting various departmental stalls, some were seen busy in buying of cloth items, some ladies were seen in buying of different kitchen wares, the shopkeepers had a very tough time while handling of so many customers at a time but all shopkeepers had a very good business for the first time till all these years of Subash Mela’s.
This time the 16th subash mela-cum-exhibition had depicted the entire picture of the North & Middle Andaman District and its participation, since it was a people friendly mela, daily thousand’s of visitor’s were seen pouring in for taking a glimpse of nicely decorated government stalls, private stalls and daily the various cultural, individual dances, skit group, solo songs and so many other programmes added festive colours to the mela.
There were other games like tug of war games, dingy race, cycle race, marathon and indoor, outdoor games which has thrilled one and all added feather’s to the seven days mela-cum-exhibition which was first time when people of all ages had participated and had won prizes for the same. The founder members and the widow of freedom fighter were facilitated on 23.01.2017 by the chief guest of the day. Entire programmes right from the 1st day was telecasted live in local channels.
The vote of thanks was imparted by Shri Benadickt, Assistant Director (Admn.), District office Mayabunder. He opined that the mela should be celebrated with full pump and show in the year’s to come and further bring laurels to the North & Middle Andaman District as a whole.
