Port Blair, Jan 23: A zonal level consultation meeting was held on 21.01.2017 at 10.30 am in the conference hall of Directorate of Agriculture under the Chairmanship of Shri. Ramesh Verma, Secretary (Agri.) A&N Administration for obtaining the feedback from stakeholders for proposing modification of MIDH guidelines implemented under High Value Agriculture Development Agency (HVADA).
At the outset Shri A. K. Das welcomed and briefed the gathering about the existing MIDH guidelines Implemented by HVADA. Smt. Clerybell D’souza, Joint Director (Agri.) HVA presented the status of MIDH.
Shri. Ramesh Verma, Secretary (Agri.) directed to prepare a need based Action Plan with special focus on marketing sector. He emphasized to propose a complete package for the farmers from seed to seed and further urged the stakeholders to participate in fast track mode for implementation of MIDH programme in the Islands.
The meeting was attended by Dr. R. K. Gautam, Senior Scientist CIARI, Joint Directors, Shri. Srinivasan, General Manager, ANCOFED, Shri Amin Moosa, General Manager, EHL and representative of CDB along with officers of Department of Agriculture.
