Mayabunder, Jan 23: Subash Mela was inaugurated by Mr. Udit Prakesh Rai, IAS, Secretary (RD/PRIs/ULBs)/DC, South Andaman, by lighting of lamp in presence of Mr. Arava Gopi Krishna, DC N & MA Dr.(Ms), Monica Priyadarshini, IAS, AC Rangat, Mr. Ingit Pratap Singh, SP N & M Andaman, T. N. Meena, DANIC, AC HQ, Mr. Benedict AD, DC office, Mr. Ranjit AD Sports, N & MA. Welcome address was given by AC, HQ, followed by the address of Chief Gust to the public and vote of thanks by AD (admn)/General Secretary, Mela Committee.
The Subash Mela is dedicated to Mr. Padmanabhan, Rtd. Officer in Medical Department, who started the mela in Mayabunder. Departmental and private stalls were colorfully decorated with concerned fields.
The main attraction is Anmol Museum stall where beautiful wooden works were shown by a individual person named Mr. K.shanmugam R/o Danapur. A colorful cultural programme was shown by the school children. The State Bank of India and ICICI Bank offered an opportunity to all people to open their account at the stall in zero balance.
