Port Blair, Jan 20: The District Administration, South Andaman with the motive to adopt/ encourage digital modes of payments to create Cash Less/ Less Cash Society, a training programme on “Capacity Building Programme on Digital Payments” was organized for the Block Development Officials/ Executive Officer/PRIs in the Conference Hall of Panchayat Samiti, Ferrargunj on 09.01.2017 with the association of Lead Bank, Port Blair. During the programme , Lead Bank official and the BDO, Port Blair encouraged the participants to adopt digital mode of payment via internet banking, e-wallet and various other modes of cashless transaction not only for the official works but also in their daily routines while making various transactions/payments.
The PRI members of all three tiers, Block staff and Officials of MGNREGA and Community Resource Persons of DAY-NRLM were also present. The District Administration has asked all the Master Trainers to train the subordinate staff of the respective department which will subsequently create awareness among rural households on the various tools of digital payments and encourage them to use less cash and adopt Digital methodologies in order to create cashless society.
