Port Blair, Jan 13: The first board meeting of Apiary Producer Company Ltd was held in the conference hall of NABARD on 12th Jan’2017. Shri. Hemant B Songadkar, GM NABARD presided over the meeting. The company was registered on 26th Dec’2016 vide CIN U01114AN2016PTC005323. The board unanimously elected Shri. C J Joseph as the first Chairman of the company. Shri. Safuwan has been appointed as CEO of the company after successfully passing the interview conducted earlier by advertisement in the local newspaper. Further it was decided to open the company’s bank account in A&N State Coop Bank, Port Blair.
Shri. Hemant B Songadkar, GM NABARD spoke at length about Farmer Producer Organization. He said a farmer producer organization is a legal entity formed by primary producers and the main aim of this company should be to ensure better income for producers and instructed the board members to work unitedly for the broad objective of the company. He further stressed on the need of synergy of efforts among various departments of the administration for successful implementation of company’s mandate. Shri. Hemant B Songadkar also instructed the board members to increase the share holders for the company.
Earlier Shri. M A Salam, Retd. Director (Agri) / President HORTISAN and honorary member of ARPAN welcomed all the members and read out the agenda of the meeting.The meeting ended with a vote of thanks proposed to the chair by Shri. C J Joseph, Chairman elect.
