Rangat, Dec 22: ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra (CIARI), Nimbudera organized training on “ Scientific practices for production of oil seed crops” at Panchwati under jurisdiction of Sivapuram gram panchayat today. The training was focused to sensitize and motivate famers for growing Rabi crops especially oil crops and pulses in their field. They have been given hand on training on cultivation of oil crops such as mustard, sesame (til), sunflower, soyabean, ground nut etc.
Shri B. L. Meena, Course coordinator of training programme distributed high yielding variety seeds of sunflower, mustard, sesame and soyabean to 08 selected farmers for popularization of oil seed farming in this locality. During the programme other topics such as integrated farming practices, food and feeding practices for women and children were discussed by Dr. Shailesh Kumar and Dr. Pooja Kapoor respectively. A total of 28 farmers and farmwomen were benefitted from the training.
The programme was organized under the supervision and guidance of Dr. S. Dam Roy, Director, CIARI, Port Blair.
