Port Blair, Dec 11: Shri Jaydeep Kumar Dey, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman expressed deep sense of gratitude to the entire team of A & N Administration particularly District Administration, A & N Police, Dept. of Tourism, Fire Services, Electricity Dept., Disaster Management, Transport Dept., elected representatives of PRIs and various stakeholders viz. tour operators Associations, Hotel Owners for prompt & collective efforts in mitigating the situation arising out of the incessant and torrential rain due to deep depression formed over south Bay of Bengal which later intensified into cyclonic storm “Vardah”.
The Adhyaksh also expressed sincere gratitude to the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands, Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman district and also to Andaman & Nicobar Command for quick action in evacuation of tourists stranded at Havelock and Neil Island.
