Mayabunder, Nov 06: A labourer of Forest Department’s wildlife section has gone missing, after falling from an engine dinghy during duty hours, while going towards Interview Island.
As per report the incident took place on 5th November 2016, when a team of three Forest labourers and one police constable were going towards Interview Island from Tugapur, Mayabunder in an engine dinghy and met with an accident.
It is learnt that because of accident the forest labourer, Rajeswar Rao, aged 45 yrs fell in to the sea and is missing ever since.
When the matter was reported to Mayabunder Police, the police team immediately responded and began search operation but till 5 November evening, there was no trace of Rajeswar Rao.
Again on 6th November Police team carried out search operation but even nearly 11 hour long search operation the missing person could not be found.
Meanwhile, it is still not clear how this accident happened? Why Rajeshwar Rao was not wearing life jacket?
He It is learnt that after the report of accident Forest workers in 2 engine dinghies from Tugapur range and 2 engine dinghies from Mayabunder division proceeded for search operation on 7th November 2016 and still no recovery was made thereafter.
The DFO wildlife issued a letter to various departments and PRIs to inform the local people and fishermen to give assistance to the search team for fruitful result at the earliest.
