Port Blair, Nov 02: The Dy. Commissioner, South Andaman along with Shri Shyamal Jaydhav Pradhan, Shri Basheer, Zilla Parishad Member and other members of Brindraban Panchayat visited Andabida Belly Bridge. It has been noticed that due to low lying road, the sea water comes over the road and the condition of the road is in a dilapidated conditions, Dy. Commissioner assured to take up the matter with the APWD. The Dy. Commissioner further inspected the culvert at Kadkachan which is very narrow and low lying and in rainy season around 3 feet water gets accumulated in the road. Dy. Commissioner ensured that necessary action for cleaning of culvert, widening and rising of road will be discussed with APWD. The 300 mtrs of road constructed by Zilla Parishad connecting the Gaatolly at Mathura with the colony 1971 settlers was also inspected which is in a bad shape. The Brindaban Panchayat intent to undertake the repair & renovation of the said road, if Zilla Parishad gives NOC to this effect. The Dy. Commissioner who is also the Secretary (RD) has assured to provide the fund if the utilization certificates is submitted by the Panchayat. The DC also inspected the Primary School at Mathura which is in a dilapidated condition and assured to take up the matter with the Education Department. Further, the DC also stopover the grazing land wherein the Panchayat is proposed to have a stadium. The DC inspected road of Saithankhari including the rubber plantation areas and witnesses the potholes in almost in the stretch of Sithankahari road.
The Dy. Commissioner further visited the disputed land in Brindaban panchayat and assured to resolve the issues. The animal shelter (kangi house) at Sithankahari was also inspected, wherein the uprooted tree has made difficult to visit to the graveyard of Hindu & Christians. The DC has directed the Pradhan to remove the fallen tree by utilizing the panchayat fund. The DC inspected the Ferrargunj junction and was given to understand that to repair & renovate the road of a stretch of 200-250 mtrs, the APWD has allocated 1.5 crore and the file is being sent to the finance for approval for which the DC assured to expedite the matter. The parking of commercial vehicles was also noticed, which make the area accident prone and DC assured to do the needful. Pradhan also demanded additional funds in sanitation which was also promised subject to submission of utilization certificate by Gram Panchayat.
