Port Blair, Oct 26: The PCC President, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N administration to explore the viability of introducing bus service exclusively for the college students particularly the girl students of Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidylaya (JNRM) here. In a letter, Mr Sharma said that institutions such as Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Institute of Technology (BRAIT), Industrial Training Institute (ITI) have provided separate buses to pickup and drop its students. Even some private schools functioning at Port Blair have their own bus services for easy commutation. However, Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidylaya (JNRM), Port Blair which offers education in wide ranging disciplines at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, did not have such facilities, he noted urging the Chief Secretary to look into the matter and initiate appropriate steps for the benefit of the students.
