Port Blair, Oct 25: While Andaman and Nicobar Police is busy with painting competition, essay competition, film making competition, mobile apps, anti-social elements seems to be getting open encouragement in these Islands.
In yet another incident of open crime, an advocate namely Alokesh Sarkar was assaulted by 3-4 masked men with Machete yesterday, at around 11:55 pm at his residence.
As per the Advocate, Mr Alokesh Sarkar, at around 11:55pm calling bell of his house rang and when he opened the door he was attacked by a Machete.
He further said that there were nearly three people who were wearing mask on their face and thus he couldn’t identify them.
“I don’t have any enemy and I am peace loving man, thus I still don’t understand why they attacked me and why,” said the Advocate Alokesh Sarkar, who is practicing in both Civil and Criminal field in these Islands.
Meanwhile, the BAR association has extended all the support to the assaulted advocate.
“As of now BAR Association is not going to organize any protest but we demand that this case is solved as soon as possible by police,” said Advocate Rajesh Pal Govind, the member BAR of Association.
The Advocate however has reported the matter to the Aberdeen Police Station and the Aberdeen PS has registered a case in this regard and inquiring into this matter. Further details are awaited.
