Port Blair, Oct 23: Shri.B. Eswar Rao, Chairperson, PBMC, Shri.Yashpal Garg, Secretary, PBMC along with a team of Councillors and Officers of the Council visited Gandhi Park and its surrounding area. Having noted the scruffy gaze near amusement park, Chairperson directed the concerned officials to renovate the area at the earliest and also to make operational the water boats as it is the most sought of service by the visiting tourists. Keeping in view that the tourism has diverse facet which provide economic support to the destination and mental satisfaction to the tourists, Gandhi Park being the hot spot for tourist, the chairperson desired to install musical fountains, play equipments etc at different location in the pound.
A healthy management of tourism can play a pivotal role to the development of the city and if the park area is properly utilized, have a huge scope of income generation. Taking a note on the scrap/unserviceable items kept in the park premises in a haphazard manner, the Secretary, PBMC directed the concerned officials to prepare a list of scrap/unserviceable items and dispose of the same at the earliest. Subsequently necessary instructions were issued to Sanitary Officer/Agriculture officer of the Council to keep the park and its adjoining area spic and span.
