Port Blair, Oct 21: Keeping its commitment of stringent action against Bootleggers and other illegal activities, frequent raids are being conducted across, Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a result of which on 20/10/2016, three excise cases were registered at PS CCS and four excise cases were registered at other Police Stations against the bootleggers, in which huge quantity of liquor have been recovered.
Besides this, between, October 01st to Oct 19th the Andaman Nicobar Police in its drive to wipe out the nuisance of Bootlegging from this UT, carried out frequent raids in the entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands and recovered altogether 754 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor, 162 illicit liquor, 99 kgs of illicit Rice Beer.
Altogether 144 persons were arrested and 77 cases under excise regulation has been registered in South Andaman District, 29 cases in PS CCS, 20 in North & Middle Andaman District and 60 cases in Car Nicobar District against the bootlegger.
General public is requested to inform about any credible information pertaining to illegal sale or possession of liquor/drugs or any other illegal activity on the following telephones numbers – 232586, 233307, 242198, & 100. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
