Port Blair, Oct 20: The Directorate of Health Services here will observe Global Iodine Deficiency Disorders Prevention Day on Oct 21, 2016. A series of awareness generation programmes will be conducted across the territory to sensitize people on the benefits of consumption of iodized salt to prevent iodine deficiency disorders. The state level function will be held in the community hall of Manglutan on Oct 21 at 10.30 am. The Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Mr Jaydeep Kumar Dey will grace the occasion as the chief guest.
