Diglipur, Oct 17: A military Helicopter of Andaman and Nicobar Command yesterday evacuated a ‘critical’ pregnant lady from Diglipur.
According to reports the pregnant lady patient, Mrs. P. Anila, 26 years, who is working as a Panchayat Secretary at Radhanagar, Gram Panchayat Diglipur, Admitted at CHC Diglipur, after she developed some complications.
Having shortage of blood and she was having continuous bleeding, which forced doctors to go for search for the blood.
The Commanding Officer, Coast Guard (HQ) 09 Commandant Samir Chandra Patanaik knowing this along with 3 CG, Military personnel reached CHC Diglipur for blood donation.
After discussions with the CMO Diglipur the CO Coast Guard contacted the Disaster Management department, after which a plan was chocked out with the help of ANC and MRCC a military helicopter was sent to evacuate the patient from Naval Air Station (NAS) at Shibpur Diglipur Port Blair at 7 PM today.
According to reports, the lady was having shortage of blood and she was having continuous bleeding, which forced doctors to refer her to Port Blair’s G B Pant Hospital. The patient was safely evacuated and operated after reaching to Port Blair.
This is the first night operation by military aircraft after sunset at Diglipur for evacuation of patient. The evacuation operation was carried out under supervision of CMO of CHC Diglipur and DMO of DHQ 9 (CG).
An applaudable initiative and act by the Defence authority has made it proved that they are at the service of humanitiy at all facing all challenges in and around their environments. Hats off to them!
