Port Blair, Oct 14: Shri B.Eswar Rao, Chairperson has informed the Council about the immediate monetary help of Rs. 2 lakhs and temporary nature of job to the son of the deceased employee Albert Dung Dung, attached to Electrical section of the Council, who expired on 12/10/2016, while working on an electric pole.
For the welfare of the employees a staff welfare fund has been created with immediate effect. The Group C Employees will be given Rs. 5000/- as gift money for the marriage of their daughter. Further, in case of any in service death of any group C employees and DRMs an immediate monetary assistance of Rs. 5000/- will be given for the funeral ceremony from the welfare fund.
The Council has also decided to examine all the pending cases (about 115)were the dependents of the deceased employees of PBMC have applied for job on compassionate ground but they are still waiting for last many years. There cases will be examined for their appointment as DRM against the vacancies/functional requirement in due course.
The Council also took the following decision- allotment of parking places through auction/tender; Allotment of food court through auction/tender; Taking up the matter with the administration for assigning the work of birth and dearth registration to PBMC and also the work relating to issue of license under food safety act and Appointment of consultant for beautification of the Municipal parks and other prominent places of the city like carbyns cove, marina park etc.
