Port Blair, Oct 4: Under the week long programme of Gandhi Jayanti celebration being celebrated by A&N State Social Welfare Board on Tuesday, a competition for the Creche children of Al Ameen Education Society, Ferrargunj was organized in the premises of the centre. Children aged 3-6 years of the centre took part in the competition of running, ball counting, basketball throwing. After the competition, prizes were distributed to the winners by Dr. (Smt) Poonam Arora, Chairperson of A&N State Social Welfare Board, Port Blair.
In her address, Dr Arora spoke about the importance of Gandhi Jayanti and the life and contribution of the Father of the Nation, Mahathma Gandhi. She also appreciated the President, Secretary and all members of Al-Ameen Education Society for their disciplined and systematic work. Ms. Marsehala Dung Dung, Ms. K. Geeta Kandasamy and Ms. Madhu Lall members of A&N State Social Welfare Board were also present on the occasion.
