Port Blair, Sept 28: A technical sang in SS Transport Bus this afternoon at 02:45 pm at Jirkatang No. 8, triggered protest by the passengers of the bus. The bus was going towards Rangat in 2.30 pm convoy.
As per reports, the passengers wanted to reach Rangat anyhow and not to return back to Port Blair, as they were initially asked. Angry passengers stopped the SST Bus coming from Diglipur to Port Blair.
The matter was soon reported to the Jirkatang Jarawa Police Check Post from where a team headed by Sub-Inspector Dhiraj Kishen reached the spot and managed to control the situation under the overall supervision of the SDPO Bambooflat, M A Nausad.
The matter was reported to the DC South Andaman by passengers and the DC also spoke to concerned officers in this regard, it is learn, which ultimately helped passengers.
There were nearly 34 passengers in the Bus. The matter ended after the bus finally took passengers to Rangat at around 06:30pm.
