Diglipur, 27 Sep: On the day of World Tourism Day, here is a good news for tourists coming right from Diglipur.
The Fiber boat operation from Aerial Bay Jetty to Ross and Smith Island, which was suspended from 11 Sept for want of Registration of boats, has been resumed today and four boats were permitted today to operate from tomorrow.
14 speed boats which were operating from Aerial Bay Jetty were earlier stopped due to administrative reasons. Neither the Tourism department nor the administration informed the tourists about closure of boats.
The matter was taken up by the Zilla Parishad member to the Chief Secretary, PMB and Deputy Commissioner.
After proper verification of documents the Deputy Commissioner of N & M Andaman permitted to only 4 boats to operate today and tomorrow another 4 will be inspected by the Asst Commissioner Diglipur. This will certainly bring big relief for tourists visiting Diglipur Island.
